Based on the portion of the body that will be scanned, certain instructions will be given to you by the doctor related to what can be eaten and drank before and after your scan. Q & A about CT scans

CT scan stands for computed tomography scan. CT imaging uses X-rays and computer technologies to produce precise, detailed diagnostic pictures. Electronic sensors detect X-rays as they travel through your body, creating images that the doctor will use to do a thorough examination. CT scanning, contrary to common opinion, is non-invasive, painless, and quick. Although a CT scan is one of the most common medical imaging procedures, it is important to tell your doctor if you are pregnant, asthmatic, diabetic on metformin, nursing, or have acute or chronic renal failure.

In the event of an accident or if your doctor detects a medical issue that cannot be identified via a physical examination, you will be required to have a CT scan. CT uses X-rays to produce precise images of your body’s interior structure that may not be possible with other imaging techniques like X-ray or ultrasound. It assists your doctor in making an accurate diagnosis and providing you with the best possible treatment.

Your doctor will give you instructions based on the portion of the body that will be scanned. You may eat and drink normally before and after the scan unless otherwise instructed. If a contrast injected scan is recommended, you may need to fast for 4-6 hours before the test. The CT scanning method normally takes 5-10 minutes, with just a few seconds of real exposure time.

Before the scan, you may require a contrast medium injection into your arm. This is important in order to draw attention to certain organs or veins. The method is more safer with Philips Access CT since the injected contrast dose may be reduced by up to 80% depending on the kind of scan. Before the infusion, you will be questioned about any allergies, particularly to iodine-based goods or shellfish, as well as any other medical issues. For a few seconds, you can get a heated feeling or a metallic taste in your tongue. If you have contrast, it is suggested that you drink lots of water following the scan.
Many of your CT questions will be addressed here. Please visit your doctor if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Q & A about MRI scans

MRIs or MRI Images allow doctors to see a range of possible medical issues throughout your body — all without X-ray exposure! An MRI is used rather to detect electrical impulses from your body using a strong magnet, radio-waves, and specific devices. This information is then processed by a computer to provide detailed images which our doctors can utilize to find out what is wrong with you or a family member.

Truecheck Diagnostics employs the latest MRI system Philips Ingenia 1.5T, which provides much better performance for three main areas: picture quality, examination speed and patient comfort.

MR imaging, especially with our new Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI equipment, is pleasant and considerably faster than you may assume. It features a wide opening, making it less restrictive than prior MR systems and far more pleasant for larger number of patients.

No radiation is used in MRIs, and there are no known health risks. For the vast majority of patients, MRI examinations are quite safe. However, not everyone is a good candidate for an MRI. If you have a pacemaker, brain aneurysm clips, shunt with sensors, inner ear implants, metal pieces in one or both eyes, implanted spinal cord stimulators, or if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, be sure to tell your doctor.

There is no need to prepare for several MRI scans. Some people may need to fast for 4 to 12 hours before the test. Others need you to drink a liquid or get an injection to reveal what’s going on within your body. The guidelines differ depending on the test and the facility. All metal (earrings, watches, bobby pins, etc.) and credit cards must be removed. During the test, you may be required to wear a robe or loose-fitting clothes with no metal closures, zippers, or buttons.

As photos are captured, the magnet emits a faint rapping sound. The machine is silent in between scans. You will be given hearing protection by your MRI technician, but you will still be able to hear the technician if he or she talks to you throughout the test.

Truecheck Diagnostics offers state-of-the art MRI system that has a much more ‘open feel’ than conventional MR systems. The open system allows us to image patients with diverse sizes, ages, and physical conditions. In fact, most scans can be performed with your head or feet entirely out of the opening. You’ll probably be very comfortable as you lie on the padded table

At all times, you’ll be in touch with one of our technologists. You will be able to communicate with him or her over the intercom even if he or she is not in the MRI room. A family member may be allowed to remain in the room with you during your scan.

If you stay motionless throughout the test, we’ll receive the best images. The technicians will lead you through the process and tell you when you may move between scans.

We can do routine exams of the brain, spine, knee, ankle, and liver swiftly and efficiently with our modern MRI equipment, in some instances in less than 8 minutes – with excellent picture quality. Vascular, cardiac, and musculoskeletal investigations might take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes to complete. Extra time may be required for complex scans.
